Join us for an interactive panel discussion with Dr Gabrielle Campbell, Professor Victoria Manning and Professor Amanda Baker who will draw on their experience as peer reviewers and editors to answer your questions about how to conduct a peer review. This session is targeted at early career researchers and PhD students who are new to the process of being a peer reviewer.
Bios
Dr Gabrielle Campbell
Dr Gabrielle Campbell is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Psychology, and National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research, University of Queensland. Gabrielle is the research manager for the NHMRC MO CRE. She was a previous Australian Public Health Early Career Research Fellowship recipient (2017-2021, #1119992) at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, University of New South Wales. Gabrielle has over 15 years experience in designing, leading and managing large studies. Gabrielle's research interest include; alcohol and other drugs, chronic pain, opioids and suicide-related behaviours.
Professor Victoria Manning
Professor Victoria Manning is Professor in Addiction Studies at Monash University, and Head of Research and Workforce Development at Turning Point, Victoria, Australia. Prof Manning is a research psychologist, SMART Recovery group facilitator and founder of the SWiPE Brain Training app. She holds a PhD on neurocognition and co-occurring disorders and has worked as a clinical researcher in addiction treatment in the UK, Asia and Australia for over two decades. Her research portfolio includes psychological, neurocognitive, pharmacological and peer-based trials.
Professor Amanda Baker
Professor Amanda Baker is an Adjunct Professor at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, University of New South Wales. She has worked as a NHMRC Senior Research Fellow and Professor in the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Newcastle, and as a clinical psychologist in mental health, substance abuse and forensic treatment settings in Australia and the UK. Her research focuses on comorbidity treatment.
