Aims
This centre brings together a large group of internationally-recognised alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment researchers, clinicians and policy-makers to achieve our mission of reducing the cost and burden of AOD problems in Australia, by increasing the capacity of the AOD sector to deliver evidence-based and cost-effective client care. To achieve this mission, the centre focuses on implementing routine outcome measures and feedback (ROMF) into the AOD sector.
This centre will also help prepare Australian AOD services for the movement towards value-based health care funding models focused on client outcomes rather than volumetric service delivery. The routine outcome measure data collected will:
- Increase our knowledge of what treatment types and settings work best for different types of AOD presentations
- Strengthen the evidence-base for AOD treatment, by evaluating new and existing interventions in real-time, in real clinical settings.
